Match Summary:

Great game boys. The opposition was short so thanks to the boys who

helped out. Well done to the boys for not retailiating to some of the

oppositions poor behavior. Harry great team game well done.  Reuben

you are a star kicking 6 goals.

Have a great holiday, see you Wednesday week

Best Players : TEAM EFFORT.

Awards :CIVIC- Jake G. SUBWAY- Malcolm. McDONALDS- Samual. CANTEEN- Noah.

Lion of the Week. KYLE- for one of the smallest blokes on the team, he

sure shows courage and determination each week. Never scared of taking

on the opposition with his gutsy efforts and lightning speed. Well done Libba.

Brandon- This big bloke is very important to the structure of the team. Up

and down the middle, full forward, ruck or full back. Tapping out to his

mates, kicking goals or stopping goals, Brando can play all these positions

as we ask of him. Keep up the great work Brando.

Match Summary :Firstly a big congratulations to Benjamyn Petterwood

on achieving 50 great games. As his coach and Dad I am very proud of the

way he has played the past 50 games for CPL. Well done Benny.

Well having to start at 9am was a distraction to say the least, with 7 kids

missing the game for assorted reasons. Saying that, it was a pleasure to

have 1 instead of 9 on the bench, giving all the kids a good hit out. The kids

were a little rusty after playing only one game in the past three weeks,

kicking six points in the first quarter. To there credit they found their way

and played some great running, passing footy to finish well on top. Some

stand outs- Tommy who has found his position at half forward, some great

running play. Jordan who keeps impressing week after week, fantastic

quarter on the ball. Jackson’s unselfish give to Benny to get him a goal for

him 50th. Ishak played another fantastic game all round the ground to

finish with 4 goals. Noah, Harry, Kobe, Dylan, Benny, Jacko all had a

big influence on the game. Congratulation to all the kids on another great

game, you all make me very proud.

Match Summary:

This week against Edithvale was the best win as a team this year the team

showed its true spirit in a hard fought win. I was very proud of the whole

team and made the awards very hard to hand out this week.

We have to work hard on our skills during the school holidays and continue

the improvement as we will play the top 4 sides over the 4 weeks and will

be an awesome test to see how far we have come as a team.

Kane Martello

Best Players : Campbell Ak, Jake Kelly, Jack Frazier, Jackson Hibbert, Bailey O’Dea,

Awards :   To be decided

Lion of the Week. Campbell Ak

Match Summary : A great game of football and a fantastic effort from each

and every player. This was a game in which we played some of our best

team football for the year, we tackled very well, ran past for the handball

and looked to kick to a team mate at every opportunity. We watched Bailey

take a fantastic mark in the backline and Billy kick one of the sneakiest

goals of the year. The forward line in the first half of Campbell, Cameron &

Charlie worked extremely hard to keep the ball in when most of the time it

was 3 against 6. The back line was very solid all day. We now have a weeks

break and we will have a well deserved rest from training. Well done boys.

Next Rd : CPL v  Chelsea YCW

Under 14s Rd 10

Score :  Pines 10.13.73 def CPL 9.8.62

Best players :   Team Effort

What a superb effort the under 14's put in against Pines on Sunday. Our

numbers were once again bolstered by NINE under 13's as we had 5

unavailable and a no show.

We threw everything at Pines from the opening bounce and led at both

quarter time and half time. By three quarter time pines had pegged us back

to hold a narrow lead. However we fought back and were actually 3 points

up half way through the last quarter. At last we had a sniff but it wasn't to

be , as we ended up going down by 11 points in a really entertaining game

that showed our supporters what we are capable of. It was a fantastic team

effort , and our breakthrough win WILL come.

Special mention to the following kids:

Josh Fithall - had a massive role in trying to quell the Pines gun player.

Tried hard all day and took the points by curbing his opponent's influence.

Dylan Richards - solid as a rock in defence. Was not beaten in a contest all

day . Continually committed to the contest and ran hard all day. Fantastic

game.

Bailey Watkins - put in another beauty. Never gives up and absolutely

hates losing. Never deviates from attacking the ball and as tough as nails.

Cody Cameron - rucked unchanged all day and is playing with a ton of

heart. Doesn't realise how important he is to our side but he continually

gives our onballers a chance to win first possession. Improving around the

ground and having a terrific season. Kicked a great goal in first quarter.

Sean Fisher - really important early and provided us with great drive into

our forward line with long kicking. Also took several contested marks - put is

in a position where we had a chance to win the game.

Alex Johnstone - class player who found plenty of the ball. Plays well

every week.

Julian Hanfi - Scott - another high possession game - kills the opposition

with his skill and marking ability.

Finally , a massive thank you to Jake , Charlie , Mitch , Max , Cam ,

Logan , Jacko , Ryan and Jack from the 13's. They were nothing short of

magnificent all day and were never intimidated by much bigger opponents.

Special mention to Ryan for some particularly gutsy efforts.

Next game- v Frankston YCW away

Go Lions!!

Under 16:
Rnd : 10                   Score : CPL 15-15-105 v. Karingal 9-2-56

Goal kickers:
Lockie Dobson 3, Charles Orchard 3, Dan Bell 2, Ben Corrie 2, ~

1 each  Mattie Bulins, Jackson Fry, Elliot Greenway, Waanunga Kelly-Nagas,

Brent Ross.

Best Players:

Elliot Greenway (BOG), Zach Buhagiar, Waanunga Kelly-Nagas, Matti

Bullins, Charles Orchard.

Lion/s of the Week/s:

Ben Corrie (Benefits) A young lad who just runs all day and never leaves

the ground without having a crack! Has had a great year form wise and is a

dangerous player on one of our wings.

Match Awards:

* Zach Buhagiar (Budge) ~ Tower of strength in the ruck and around the

ground.

*Lockie Dobson (Dobsey) ~ Stepped up exactly when we needed his

services. Settled in within our forward line and his fantastic work ethic not

only provided us a target all afternoon, but also was busy

being involved in most of our goals…either assisting or kicking them himself!

*Andrew Mc Cormick (Little Mack) ~ Also stepped up to play for us and

provided us with some great run across our half forward line until he copped

a bit of a corkie late in the fray.

Training Award:

Elliot Greenway (Carni) With a significant improvement in both a ~

mature approach and professional effort towards training this season ~ his

football has improved out of sight!

* Evil Chicken Award   Tank L Not a serious incident, but lack of

discipline did cost the team!

Match Summary:      A Victory when not performing to our best.

Last week’s preparation was in complete contrast to the week’s build up.

Injuries and work experience saw low numbers attending training. All this

and with a lack of focus for those who turned up contributed to a

lack lustre effort on the track. The statement “how you train is how you play

was totally apt re this game!

We started just ok, and then we let the opposition get a sniff so to

speak. The Bulls gained control of the match and completely outplayed us in

the 2nd quarter and managed to get their noses in front at the long break.

After a bit of a kick up the butt from the coaching staff our combatants

ended up over running a gallant foe.

In the end history will tell of a score board displaying a flattering win, but

the truth be known, it was a hard day at the office. If the opposition had a fit

bench we might have been licking our wounds and our elders would be

telling a tale of a nasty loss to our “youngens” back at our village.
