Best Players : Team effort.

Lion of the Week. Ryker- he has had a very solid season, playing much of his best footy up forward. A great goal sneak and most of all a fantastic team player. Well done Ryker.
Samual- enthusiastic and always give 100% on game day and at training. With a little hard work with the ball over summer he will become a very important part of the team next year. Keep up the hard work Sammy.
Olivia- well she has kicked more goals this year than most of the Cowboy’s. Hard at the ball and always willing to have a crack at the hard ball. What a little champ. Make sure you play on next year, the team needs a great forward pocket and you are it..... Go girl power.

Match Summary : Well this was our grand final. Edi Asp Blue are very similar to ourselves in that they have had a great run for the past couple of years. Sundays game was full of hard hitting, skilled and disciplined footy by both sides. What a Game... There was only a couple of points separating the teams at every change and it showed on the kids faces at the breaks. What a game... I asked them to play for their mates, jumper and themselves in the last quarter and they responded by scoring some great goals and keeping Edi Asp goalless in the final quarter. What a game... When the siren finally sounded, the kids celebrated like they had won the Grand Final. What a game... Well done to all the kids on a hard fought game and a massive congratulations on a stunning performance.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers that made this season such a fantastic success.

U 14 Rd 13

Score : Edi Rovers  17.9.111 def CPL 5.9.39

Goalkickers : Sean , Max , Charlie , Mitch , Cody

Best players:  Johnno , Jules , Dylan , Josh , Cody , Joel , Corey

Match Summary: Well , the winning streak is over , after we went down to a well drilled Edi Rovers team on Sunday.

We jumped out of the blocks to score within the first minute , and stayed competitive until the 10 min mark. Our pressure was great but for whatever reason we took our foot off the pedal and allowed our opponents to run forward unmanned, which resulted in several unanswered goals.
Apart from this lapse , we stuck to the task for the rest of the game , and finished strongly.  The result probably didn't do justice to the spirit that the boys showed , and overall it was a pretty good performance by our boys.

The two ball magnets , Johnno and Jules recovered from last week's leather poisoning , only to catch it again on Sunday - both played sensational games. Dylan starred again , particularly in the second half with his ferocious attack on the ball and straight line running , and Josh continued his consistent form with his controlled aggression.
Cody  battled away in the ruck again and was awarded with a long goal in the last quarter ( I thought we had somehow won the game after witnessing his celebration!)
Corey Armitt was solid all day in both attack and defence , and Joel also put in a good four quarter effort , especially with his tackling and pressure.

Thanks again to the under 13's that filled in - Jake , Charlie , Max , Mitch , Cam and Jack ( who played a blinder).

This week let's finish on a high note when we take on bottom placed Seaford and the loser finishes bottom. Let's make sure it is not us as we deserve better.

This week Seaford at Home.

Go LIONS

Goal kickers:
Blake Hicks 7, Lockie Dobson 4, Dan Bell 3, Jackson Fry 3 and 1 each…….
….Ben Corrie, Elliot Greenway, Mat Hart, Shane McCormick, Waanunga Nagas & Charles Orchard.

Best Players:
Blake Hicks, Jackson Fry, Angus Johnstone, Dan Bell, Rhys Chadwick, Charles Orchard.

Lion/s of the Week/s: Alex Bollen (TANK): This wasn’t his best game for the year, but not due
lack of form but due to the fact that he played in our backline, and the ball went down that end
very seldom. To his credit he did the team thing and didn’t drift off his man/zone or out of our back half
to try and snag a cheap goal like most team-mates. He has been a super asset to our team either
with his hard and tight defence or skilful run down the flanks to propel our team forward.
Has had a great year to date, keep it up mate!

Match Awards:
*Jackson Fry (Jacko) ~ Best game to date, he has been working on his footy and the rewards are
starting to come to the surface! Jacko in full flight during the finals will be a great wildcard!!
*Rhys (Chadders) ~ Got throo another full game, and had a good 1! Another wild card for the finals
as we haven’t seen a fully fit Chadders all season! Keep up with the hard work!
*Lockie Heller (Thunder Bird) ~ After a little bit of a mid season slump this lad has really put some work
in on the track and his form has greatly improved! Full of fitness and a tenacious attitude this bloke can
not only stop a CHF when playing down back, but can be used as a Ruckman or as a forward and in the pas has blown a game apart with clusters of strong marks and goals! As Coach I have a lot of wild cards up my sleeve!!!!

Training Award:
Brent Ross Corrie Dedicated to his footy and preparation and try’s not to miss a session.

Evil Chicken Award Avian Flu is running rife throughout our ranks, very concerning!!! L

Match Summary:  Last Home Game, great to have a win but a day best not dwelled upon
Despite percentage which really didn’t count anymore with the current ladder status, and a few
personal highlights or improvements with form; well none should get carried away with this win.
Disappointing low numbers to our player reunion prior to the match set the scene for the day.
Lack of discipline re behaviour and team structures, a serious injury, all added up to a game that as
Coach I cannot be too proud, even though we got the 4 points.
This weeks training must be high in energy, concentration and attendance. The finals have commenced!!!
Player beware he who ignores our motto ~ E tan e epi tas!

Team News:
      * Thanks Ann Bell and her crew for the hard work in organising and putting on the Reunion.
     * Brentie is going OK and the outcome to his injuries may not be as serious as well initially,
thought with hard work re rehab and a bit of luck we may see him “dong on his boots” for finals.
thanks to all that helped this young lad and myself out Sunday, the real family culture of
our club was obviously there for all to see!
